What is there to do with small children in the Grand Canyon, South Rim?
We have 1 son, eight years old.
Depending on there age and determination a donkey ride to the bottom will be something they would never forget, but I’m not sure at what age your children are at or how old they have to be to ride. There is a stone tower to climb at the gift shop and then there is the big ditch to look at, plus I think you have to ride in on buses because of the limited parking.

the same thing my 8 month old did nothing, but be carried around and toddle.
A great place for the 8 year old, learn about the history through hikes and walks the interactive visitors center.. Then tour the sunset crater indian ruins meteor crater etc… Try the camping in cabins at the KOA campground near by in Flagstaff
