 Hi, Keith Kravitz here, and welcome to my page where I post my articles about tours to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas. There's a lot of information on bus, helicopter, and airplane trips from Vegas, and it's my hope that these short articles will help you get the trip that best meets your needs and budget.
First, a bit of preamble... Tours that originate from Las Vegas are day trips that go to the West and South Rims. There are no trips to the North Rim. The West Rim sits just 120 miles east of The Strip, while the South Rim is 270 miles east of it. The three primary modes of transport to the Rims are bus, helicopter, and airplane. Expect to spend between a half and full day on these tours. The bus takes 2.5 hours to reach the West Rim; helicopters and airplanes take up to 45 minutes. Other key facts are: 1) Helicopters are only permitted to land at the West Rim; 2) River rafting tours are available at both; 3) There are no direct helicopter flights to the South Rim - you must book an airplane; and 4) the Skywalk is at the West Rim.
